I had been a practicing individual and group psychotherapist for about 10 years before I ran headfirst into executive coaching secondhand.

The problem

My husband, a serial entrepreneur and currently a co-founder himself, would come home with great stories of founder camps and founder coaching. And then the stories at our social gatherings with other founder group member teams began to show a disturbing picture. 

Most executive coaches were former entrepreneurs with virtually no training in
the mental health space. 

They ran groups, interventions and coaching processes without a thorough understanding of the true gems behind dysfunctional group dynamics.They coached without a thorough understanding of their own personal issues and how those contaminate their coaching processes. I began to hear more and more stories of ineffective coaching stories. 

The worst part? They would tell me about their problems and I would think “wow, but that is totally workable!”

And so I would ask, “well, what have you done to tackle the problem?” And the answers floored me. So many ousted members, so many friendships broken, so much distress because very few people in the space treat the deep underlying issues in faulty relationship dynamics. 

As the years went by and the stories grew I knew what I wanted to do:

Help founding team members have a smoother ride on their way to executing their company’s mission. In fact, that resolution evolved to ENSURE a smoother ride so as to be ABLE to execute the company’s mission.    

The SOLUTION

I bring my more than 15 years of successfully coaching high level executives, high performance athletes, top academia players, high powered lawyers, high functioning ADHD, ambitious and driven individuals to remove the roadblocks that prevent them from optimizing their potential.

I help activate the individual and group’s self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms via NLP, somatic exercises, elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, analysis of the psychodynamic group dynamics and the resolutions thereof. 

Not very long ago you probably chose your founder group members because you recognized their capabilities and brilliance in them. Your cofounders’ group is like a very expensive and luxurious car that you have poured a lot of energy and time into building it. And now, if you are reading this, your car is probably sputtering or even stuck. Naturally, you think the car is at fault. Or whom you chose to build it with. Or another member’s contribution to the engineering of that car. None of those answers are right by the way. 

Founder team coaching can help you realize your car is most likely stuck in a ditch, and as soon as we collaboratively pull it out of there, it WILL run  Very, very well, and expedite the arrival at your destination.

Because of my varied training we will tackle the individual and relationship dynamics in a multi-pronged approach. We will find and change your patterns of cognition to aim the mind/s towards more effective thought patterns. We will find and support the emotional barriers that prevent you from trusting your team members to do their very necessary jobs to ensure the company’s success. Because we experience our consciousness within our bodies, we will use somatic processes to embody the newly shifted paradigms in, within and through our bodies. The faulty or distorted perceptions of the mind/s, emotions and bodies will be analyzed and given the opportunity to shift and grow as a group to advance the company’s agenda.

What makes me qualified to lead this work?

My training includes a B.A.in both Psychology and Cognitive Science from the Johns Hopkins University, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy from the Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City, and three different modalities of Somatic Psychotherapy from the Institute of Body Psychotherapies in Mexico City.

Nowadays, I’m foraging into the world of certified coaching in both Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Executive/Leadership coaching. Soon I will be certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as well. I have been in the mental health and coaching world for about 15 years now with a passion for helping individuals and groups learn how to prevent, repair and rehabilitate their cognitive distortions that lead to emotional distress.
